Very nice image with excellent detail and great eye contact.. The open beak is a lovely bonus too. I would like to see a tad more room to the right as I find it a bit tight and also considerably more on the left to allow the bird room to fly out. Great BG Harry and many thanks for sharing.

Beautiful capture of the bird in very nice light and with a great background. I agree with Judy that more room would make a big improvement. Wish the wing tips weren't so tattered.

I love flight images of cranes in soft light. Agree on the steep angle to the subject and the need for more room in front.

As for the tattered primaries, the bird has molted all of the secondaries and five (I think) of the inner primaries. In another week the ratty outers will have fallen out and been replaced by fresh new ones. All part of the natural order of things (but for artistic purposes a completed molt would have been nice...) later and love, artie

Great pose captured. Adding to the other comments, there is a S/H halo that you can avoid using the tutorial Fabs wrote: http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...ead.php?t=6040
