Rhino poaching in the news again in South Africa.........I hope that reality can set in and the something can be done to stop the madness.........

Canon 40D , 400 mm F5.6 L , 1/1250 SS , F8 , ISO 500. PP includes USM , custom WB to enhance sunset reflection. Image shot after sunset with metering off of water to create silhouette of the rhino.

Great shot. I love the ripples - accentuates the image nicely

Wonderful image. I like the light peeking through the legs because it tells the viewer that they are legs instead of a big black blob.

Great image Andrew...We are all talking, but no doing...If the police and Government are not gonna step in and do something we are in big trouble!!! They were saying the other day that they are getting the defense force involved to patrol Game reserves and I first I thought great, but then I thought, Armed soldiers with R1 Rifles walking around large expanses of areas and how corrupt our authorities already are... Maybe im pessimistic, or am I?

Lovely image. I like this one.

Sad to hear the state of affairs. Question the public authorities. Unless many voices are raised, the Government is likely to sleep over this issue and move on to some other issue. If someone can post the details of the authorities then readers can atleast shoot protest emails.

    Cheers,

    Andrew,

Almost for me - the large dark area at the top hinders the image with too much negative space IMO. The gold water BG and part of the rhino's head is excellent - just if the water was BG to the top of the frame.
