    Default Fracted Fly

Here is my first one for this week's theme.. I used Canon G11 to get this fly sitting on a Crepe Jasmine when I was visiting India last year. This was taken in the morning with dew drops on the flower. For this composition, I rotated the flower a bit and then used Topaz Remask to extract the fly. Applied Fract/Glow 100 and changed the setting. Changed opacity for the layer to get the final effect. Applied usm on the final web version. Hope you like it.

Indranil, very nice work on the flower and the fly. I would consider cloning or painting away the 3 dark leaves on the right and bottom and then cropping some off the right.

Indranil, Really cool look you created here. The fly stands out very well. I like it! I think Ken makes a good suggestion regaring the three leaves in the BG -another option may be to darken the BG a little more.:) Nicely done with the fract work.

Hi Indranil, nice fract work here. I especially like the effect on the petals. I think the background leaves work as framing elements and would lean toward lightening them a bit. Nice work with the bug!

I like the fract work on the flower and leaves and the bug selection. I might crop off a little on the right and paint out the top right leaf. The other 2 could be toned down with painting at low opacity but they don't bother me that much.

Thanks all for the feedback. Appreciate it a lot. My original thinking was the bg leaves provide the framing just as Kerry pointed out. So here is two version - one with darkened bg and the other lighter bg. Let me know which one works better...

Indranil, I think I like the first repost the best but like them all. I love the effect on the flower - it looks like a spider web or lace. Nicely done.:)

Very nice image, Indranil. Love the frac work and the fly looks great standing out like it does. Personally, I like the original post best.

Indranil, I like this very much and personally prefer your OP. I liked the way the background leaves were presented as they looked natural (not natural in terms of nature but naturally a part of the image! ).
