    Default Sandhill Crane Juxtaposition

    1D MkIII
    100-400 f/4.5-5.6L @330
    1/250 @ f9
    + 1/3 EV
    ISO 400

Note the dramatic shift on the left side of the background from green to black. It's natural, but is a bit distracting to me. Thoughts on touching it up to eliminate the dark area? The water reflection would need changed as well.
    Cheers!

Before worrying about the dark blotches in the BKGR do consider the head angle on the front bird. The head of the crane in the foreground is angled slightly away from you. Compare that with the head angle of the bird in the rear which is A-OK. There are lots of good thread on Head Angle in the Educational Resources forum.

Nice capture...I like seeing the other bird in the BG! Nice eye contact as well!

I like this kinda stuff. Nice juxtaposition and superb sharpness. Good job on the bill texture.

    Thanks all for the input.
Artie, I agree that the HA is off a few degrees, but it didn't kill the image for me. I hope to do better next time. :)

I like this type of shot too. Nice that the North American cranes can be so cooperative.
