Well finally back in the swing of things again. Business travel and vacation have kept me away for about a month but now I am back!

Well I have be developing a real appreciation for gulls and thought I would share this. Comments both good and bad are always welcome.

Lovely soft light Michael and a nice, simple layout. Woule like to see a 1024 version of this! I like the OOF greenery at the back but it's too bad there's not something to balance it on the right. I might give a bit more room on the right and take some of the blurry stuff off the bottom.

Mike, Nice soft colors in the BG. I may have preferred the bird a bit lower in the frame. Nice to have you back. Your trip images were nice and from what I saw it looks like you killed on the lighthouses.:)

Gulls are some of the more entertaining birds out there, almost always accomodating, and perfect practice subjects for a bunch of techniques (BIF, blurs, tough exposure situations, close-ups, etc)...what's not to like about them!!:)

Funny clumsy pose by this young individual. Exposure looks good, as do the muted colours. Nice low angle. I agree less room below and more at right and top would strenghten the comp. An additional round of sharpening for web posting would be good too as the face is a tad soft.
