Nice comp and love the raised foot. White balance needs to be adjusted here... full image is too green.

The repost is much better. Exposure is perfect. All in all, a nice picture, even if I had preferred a lower angle of view, ideally at the same level as the bird.

Coots are difficult to capture with detail in the blacks without blowing the whites and it looks to me like you did well here. I am always struck by their lobed feet so I'm glad to see that raised foot. Sharp, nice detail and good head angle. I'm hoping one of the moderators will replace the first post with the repost as this image deserves to be seen at its best.

Beautiful pose and head turn. I like the rock. The first image was too green but the repost seems to have a magents/blue cast. I would try to warm it up a bit.

Richard. How did you miss the green cast in the original post ??? The repost is far better. The mud island perch is a bit of a problem but it is nice to see the toes and also, the perfect head angle.

    Thanks for the comments, appreiciated.

I took the pic from one of my local hides so unfortunately I am unable to get level shots from there.

I will check out the color again.
