    At the beach last winter. There wasn't much going on so I focused on a couple of Willets. I used a bit of fill flash as it was an overcast day.

    50D, 100-400 at 350mm
    1/250 sec, f/8, ISO 250
    Handheld

    Superb muted colors, perfect DOF and exposure. I like the pose too. The angle of view, at the same level as the bird, is a huge plus.

    I like the pastel colors and soft feel...with excellent details and HA, what more can you ask? Nicely done.

    Aidan, Nice use of fill flash. I like the low angle and the pose. Beautiful BG colors. Maybe just a very, very slight hint of contrast.

    Well done young buddy. It looks like a first winter bird with the mantle and scaps noticeably darked than the coverts. Techs perfect and I like the little wavelet. Denise's suggestion is a good one. Digging a hole in the sand for your rig would have placed the dark line lower in the frame..... I have done that :) Or, simply taken the lens off of the mount....
