    Shot this at a place called the Wave in Arizona a number of years back as a slide.(one of my last trips using film) Curious to know how others feel about the comp...

    I like the strong vertical lines and detail defining shadows. Only thing I would change if I could would have been having the vertical the full length of the frame and not have those opposing rock in the upper left.

    Hey Dave,
    Agree with Robert that this would be stronger w/o the UL contrast......but this is still very strong with the lines and light!

    Dave I agree with above comments. The colors and lines are dramatic and obviously the dried branch is a great focal point.
    However, when I see the opposing rocks at the bottom it confuses my eye and makes me wonder if I am looking directly down
    the hill and that little bit of sand is the bottom.

    Nice comp and image, Dave. I wish you had overcast light. Sandstone glows in indirect or diffused light. A BW version may be interesting.
