    Default Juvenile Caracara on the ground



    Shot this around 7.30am, sun just came up but was cloudy, lighting condition was not ideal.

    Camera Nikon D3S
    Exposure 0.002 sec (1/500)
    Aperture f/8.0
    Focal Length 850 mm
    ISO Speed 2500
    Exposure Bias +4/3 EV

    Troy:

    I think you did well with the light here. I like the softness which allows a nice tonal range. Effective pose, good DOF, like the drops of dew.
    I might have been tempted to try a few frames with larger f stop to alter the isolation from background, but it works as is.
    Might consider cloning out the dark plant material right in front of his face.

    I like the eye contact & I agree with Randy's observations. I also think that more space on the RHS would be good if you have it available.

    Troy, I think you did great. I like the pose and the details. The environment looks good also.
