    This makes our starlings look unbearably bland!

    Lovely and varied colors, sharp, exposure good, although you might be able to reduce the contrast just a bit and get a little more detail in the blacks. You did well with the harsh light.
    The comp. is a bit tight in front and back for my taste, but esp. front.

    White wash is always an issue, about whether to remove or not. It would make for a 'cleaner' image, but personal choice.

    Welcome. Sharp, with a nice head angle and a good exposure. Iridescent birds are difficult to photograph in full sun.... Best to go after them on cloudy days or in shade. And yes, an all tan BKGR would have been ideal.

    Good points already offered. If this is cropped I'd go back and add some canvas. Also, at time of capture, it would have been good to move right a bit if at all possible (this would have hopefully eliminated the darker area in the BG).

    Very colourful!!
