    Bean bag Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS Canon 1.4TC Mk1 ISO 1000 + 1.67 1/1250 sec f5.6.

    Shot taken from a hide in a nature reserve in North Wales, despite a high tide the birds were still some 46m distant.

    Great wing position Jon. I like how the bird sits in the clear area between the vegetation at the top and bottom of the frame. Sharpness could be a little better. Judging by the hot whites in the tail feathers, you could have gone with less + EC and a resulting faster shutter speed; that may have gotten you sharper. Still a nice image.

    Nice comp and timing. Agree that sharpness could be improved.

    Jeez, I posted to this killer image but it did not load. I love the bird, the wing position, and the colors and soft light. And those hanging feet. Way to go!

    And the foreground and BKGR are killer too.

    Jonathan, Excellent sharp details and flight pose. I agree w/ Doug regarding the whites but boy this is sweet!:) I'm glad I took a look!
