Nice shot Chris. Color, exposure and sharpness all look fine. And I like the bird's pose. But I'd like this shot even better if you'd managed to catch the bird in a position with fewer nearby distractions. The razor clam (?) and greenery at lower left here draw my eye from your subject.

Hi Chris and welcome to BPN.

You have a very good light here. However I also find whatever is in the back of your main subject very distracting. I know how hard is to get these little guys out in the open, but if you are adding some habitat, don't let it take away from your subject. If you notice closely whatever that is, is also covering part of the leg.

I think you did well with the composition but perhaps next time a cleaner surrounding area will make your subject really pop!

One of my favorite shorebirds, and one we don't see much of over here. The bird's pose is just about perfect, but I have to agree the clam (?) is somewhat distracting if only for its prominence in the frame. I can't help but think that the bird itself could go a tiny touch brighter if you compare it to that clam.

Very nice image. I would take some off of the top (for sure) and maybe the right too.
