Its always good to see different species touchdown on water. They all have their own particular way of landing. Flamingo's tend to run in the water when landing, and hopfully this image shows just that. Taken in Johannesburg a few weeks ago. The BG are reflected reeds on the water.

    Stuart:

Lovely colors in bird and matching tones in background. Nice wing position, well exposed, nice action with the splash and leg up.
Only problem is< wish it was larger so I could appreciate it more:D

Thanks Randy. The Flamingo was fairly far away, so I didnt want to spoil the IQ by cropping too much. Having said that, I will be honest in saying that I didnt try any larger than 800 wide - maybe I should. ;)

Awesome Stu, wish they were still there. Great light and pose. Difficult to get detail out of their eye's and you nailed it. Like you chosen comp, foot up pose and water splash ;)

Stuart, That is one sharp splash! I like the pose and the water colors are amazing.

I don't think you'd have a problem getting this to 1024 wide Stuart. Love the pose, splash, and water color.

    Hello Stuart,
Great colors in this one. The angle of the bird, and especially the line of ripples created by his feet in the water, add a lot to the photo.
