    Default Breakfast for two...

    Hi Guys

Had breakfast on a local jetty with my wife last weekend. While we were finishing up I noticed a few cormorants fishing so I set up and quitely waited, trying to guess where they would pop up out of the water. I was lucky to catch this guy struggling with a sizeable fish, also trying to finish up his breakfast. I know I cooked the whites, but I hope you enjoy it anyway...

Great catch and details Don. I would like to see more space up frond for him to swim in too and less on the right. Will do a highlight adjustment on the whites and lighten the bg up. But its personal.

I love the action captured, in particular the splash that creates an S-curve with the fish's body. I find the original a little too contrasty, and I like what Niko did with the repost for the most part. The bird in the OP is too far to the left of the frame; I like the repost crop better, but I'd add a little on the right of the frame. I also wish for a lower shooting angle.

    Thanks Doug and Nico

I cropped from the left to put the bird off center and retain the wake detail. Hmm.... maybe it should have been from the right and kept the drop circles in the water. I could not do anything about the angle wthout getting wet. Agree with the contrast (I am at work currently), I think I need to adjust my monitor at home

Love the action. I'd rather see a slightly less than perfect shot with great action.
