I was sitting and trying for some reflection shots but this one got too close. I did like the hairdo.
The ULC is my shooting partner Michael Zajac's dark brown waders. He was sitting in the water in front of me and I liked the colors that it was throwing off. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

I like the hairdo as well...gives the bird some character. I also like the ripples in the water and the composition.

    Hi Denise,
I kinda think Mike's reflection fights with the image. Just my opinion but others might like it. That's why art is in the eye of the beholder. Either way, the bird looks great. Went to Jamaica Bay this morning. There are still birds around but in decreased numbers. Had 3 Pectoral Sandpipers fly in together. Thought you'd like to know.

    Denise:

I would prefer the brown patch not be there. If the entire background was that way, probably OK, but not the patch. Not a strong feeling here, but in a perfect world, no patch.
The bird itself is quite sweet.

    Cheers

    Randy

Thanks for the feedback. I can see your point. I'll evict the color. Thanks.
Lloyd, Thanks for the update. I appreciate it. Went yesterday and in the AM and it was slow but still lots of fun.:)

Good exposure and sharpness, nice low angle and I like the hairdo...it adds personality :)

I don't find the brown in the upper left at all distracting. Where I shoot anyway it's darn near impossible to get perfectly uniform water color unless everything is absolutely perfect so this looks like nature to me.

I like that patch too, and I also find it looks natural and it balances the comp IMO. I guess Michael blends in nicely!!

Hi Denise, I like the low perspective, together with the angle of the sandpiper. The darker ULC doesnt distract me, but seeing that the water colour is such a great shade of blue, I wouldnt mind seeing the rest of the BG water the same. As I said, it doesnt spoil the image whatsoever. ;)
