    Default Black-bellied Whistling Duck in environment

    These fellows have given us a lot of good opportunities this year! I was trying to get at least one within the environment of the reeds, but sure has been difficult from a focusing perspective, but I was happy with this one. Taken with the Nikon D300s and the Nikon 500 f/4 with the 1.4TC, f/7.1, 1/800, iso 640 attached to the Quick Action Harness.

    Nancy, I like the inclusion of the habitat. I think you have been doing great w/ these and I'm so envious! Nice details and pose. I might tone down the BG a tiny bit if it were mine. Nicely done.:)

    Nancy, the repost does look better with the toned down BG. (I've put the repost in with your reply as the two images together looked a bit confusing and messy with some disalignment in that first pane)

    This is such a beautiful species of duck! Good timing with the fully outrstretched wing. I do wish for a better HA, and some of the paler streaks in the BG are a bit distracting.
