    Default Hurricanes like Earl throw birds off course

    Perhaps of interest for some here. Hopefully we'll see some cool pictures of unusual birds soon. JR

    Hi,

    Hurricane Earl did indeed bring a bonanza of unusual birds to Nova Scotia, some of which are still around - particularly Black Skimmers and Laughing Gulls. There were also Royal, Caspian, Forster's and a Bridled Tern, a Brown Pelican and a Snowy Plover. Also (although probably not Earl-related) a Calliope Hummingbird. I was over in England, so I missed most of this, but many people took excellent photos.
