    This is Socks, one of my outdoor kitties. Since I took this shot in the wintertime, the BG was all white, so I applied several of my textures to the BG to get this look. Any comments would be most appreciated!

    Chris this is beautiful work! I'd maybe sharpen just the eyes a bit more to draw the viewer's attention to them and leave everything else "kitty fur" soft. Super image!

    Background? I'm looking at that adorable kitty! But now that you mention it, the BG looks great. Technique wise, how do you separate all those fine kitty hairs from the original BG?

    Nancy, I didn't need to separate all the kitty hairs because the BG effect was created by overlaying the textures on the white BG. I just had to use a very soft brush to mask along those edges to ensure that the BG effect blenged seamlessly with the kitty. Hope that makes sense.

    Thanks very much for the comments! Now that you mention it, Jules, I think you're right that the eyes could use a little sharpening.
