Well I'll have a go! This is an image made about 5 kms from my house on the Bay of Fundy. You are looking at Fundy mud, salt marsh, Acadian forest, and not a single sign of human habitation!

Conditions were sunny, late afternoon. The light was warm. I opened up one stop from f16 so halved my shutter speed. Image was cropped and sharpened. I darkened the sky to bring out the clouds with a Photoshop trick that gives you a gradiated neutral density filter. Dupe the later, darked duped layer in Levels, add a layer mask and with the mask selected, draw the gradient tool from top to bottom until you get the desired result.

I really enjoyed using the sunny 16 rule and clearly it worked here. Never really used it before. I have some thoughts about its applicability to shooting RAW digitial but I'll leave that till later!

Comments welcome of course (and looking forward to seeing others).

Gorgeous, John! Lovely angle here - capturing each distinct area and showing it off for full impact. That spot of grass in the middle of the image is a great way to bring the FG and midground together. Nice detail from the grass back to the clouds - lots of texture and a real sunny feel to this one!
