This bird is an extremely rare visitor to the North East in the United States. It has lingered for more than 30 days in Statford, CT and continues to be seen daily.

Normally I'd have my shutter speed much higher but this was in the heat of the moment:)
Lloyd:
Sharp, well exposed, nice banking pose with great eye contact.
Your signature is so large it really detracts from the image.
I wonder if there isn't just a bit of a blue cast to the image?
Lloyd. I heard this was the first recorded sighting of the species in New England in 100 years. Is that true? Nice pose and eye contact. As Randy said, sharp and well exposed. TFS.
Thanks everyone. DEnise, what you heard is mostly true. There was one seen 20+ years ago in Dutchess County, NY which is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours north of NYC. I guess that's not New England ;)
Hi Randy. The signature is there for to protect my images from copyright infringement. Whites are white on my screen and the bird looks white, gray and black to me. How about anybody else re. the colors?
Lloyd
Randy did a good critique on the photo - nicely captured
If you check the whites and greys in the Histogram - - the RGB values are within 5 pts of each other, so there's no color cast
