My First post as a member on BPN .On a recent trip to Sabi Sands in the Greater Kruger area of South Africa , I photographed this young male leopard on patrol of his territory. We anticipated he would take this short path into the open of a fire break before moving back into the cover of a thicket. I was rewarded with a few frames of this head on view. It was late afternoon with overcast sky s.

    ISO 1000 , F4 , Canon 1dMK3 , 300 F2.8 L , Monopod with Wimberley Head

PP included USM and basic levels and NR.

    Welcome here, Andrew.
Love the head on view and I think your composition is very nice with showing the path that the leopard takes. Walking on the path is also good for seeing the head clearly. Nice low angle...was it taken from the car the monopod resting outside? Very nice photo. I find it a little dark on my monitor. Well done.

welcome here Andrew! good to see you here...

I like this head-on view and especially the fact that the leopard was still far enough away to create a nice POV instead of shooting down at it as so often happens on these safari vehicles :)

for my tastes I would crop away some of the OOF bottom area and also a sliver off the RHS

HI Andy and welcome.....beautiful image....love the mix of sharp and unsharp as well as the low angle that adds intimacy. I agree with cropping suggestions!

Welcome Andrew. I like this image very much. The path leading to the leopard, the purposeful stride he is showing, the way the in focus grasses frame him and the dof. Agree with Morkel's suggestion regarding the slight crop.

Welcome Andy, Great capture!! I might boost the saturation up some to make up for the flat light. Bob

Very nice sighting. It is good that you had knowledge of the game trail and placed the vehicle right. Too often photographers ignore that. Thanks for sharing.

    I agree.

Great use of the trail as a leading line.
