Super low perspective Bill, and I like the calm water. I like the pose and HA too.

Very sweet image, the HA looks pretty good, and the water ripples are a nice. Might be from the water itself but there are some ever so slight dark spots above the bird's hind tails and I might take that tiny speck off the end of its beak too.

Very nice, Bill. I like the smooth clean water and mostly clear reflection. I like the walking pose as well.

    Hi Bill,
Too bad we never ran into each other at the Bay. You may or may not know that I, along with Kevin Karlson (The Shorebird Guide) and Don Riepe, ex manager of the refuge, run the Jamaica Bay Shorebird Festival each August. Next year, August 20th will be our 6th year.
Anyway love your image but I see something a little funky diagonally below the tip of the bill. Did you clean something up there? It's kind of a pale mark that can easily be fixed.

Thanks Lloyd. Believe it or not I've only been to Jamaica Bay that one time; but had a good morning so I vow to go back. I'll put the festival in my calendar.

It's time I got a less grainy monitor, or at least clean the screen of the one I've got. I think I see the spot you mean. There is a vague whitish spot on the RAW file, and I didn't do any cleanup there, so I don't know what it is. I did clone out a few oof swan feathers and a few other bits of debris elsewhere in the image, but not in that spot (and I left some smudgy spots in the water that perhaps I should have also cloned out). Thanks for pointing it out, and thanks also to Connie, Stuart and Jim for their comments and observations. I'll go back over the image and clean it up a bit more.
