    Great colors and background and I like the perch -- but having a little trouble with the id -- can't find a goldfinch in any of my books with a red face. Maybe someone can help me -- what kind of goldfinch is this/

    This is a European Goldfinch and a very nice image of one, great HA, perch, BG and sharpness. You probably won't find it in the American field guides.
