I love the arched back of this pose by a male Rufus-tailed Hummingbird, like a hovering angel. I wish the far wing was sharper. Photographed in Costa Rica last April on Doug Brown & Greg Basco's workshop. Comments encouraged.

    EOS 7D, EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS + 1.4X (at 190mm), f 20, 1/200", ISO 200.
    Multi flash with printed BKGR.

Nice pose, flash work, and flower. It's a bit tight all around for me. If you have it try adding some room on the bottom and right.

    Looking forward to more hummers!

    Aidan,

I agree. I did not have extra canvas, but I created some. I like this better. Thanks.

Great work, Bill !! OOF wing doesn't distract and the added canvas lifts the image a great deal.

Love that pose Bill! The extra canvas definitely helps. You might try a color balance adjustment layer and pull the yellow/blue slider back about 10 clicks to the left (more yellow, less blue).

Good call Doug and ten clicks seems about optimal. It definitely warms up the image and gives it more pop. Thanks. Here is the repost with that adjustment applied to the whole image, rather than a selected portion.

Hi, Bill. Good to see this one here. I think the last repost as per Doug's suggestions is a definite improvement.

    Cheers,

Agree that the last repost is the best of all. To me, the only thing that I would suggest is the eye/chin area looks like it could use a bit more sharpening. Hard to tell without looking at a larger version though. Nice job.
