While driving around in Etosha we found this giraffe killed by the lions and some of them were feeding on it. I like the fact how this one keeping an eye on me while enjoying his meal.:)

    Lorant,

Very powerful with that eye looking right at you. I debated the central location of the eye and think it works good.

In this instance, I feel aiming the camera a bit higher and lessening the immediate bottom OOF area and increasing the distance at the top from the frame edge to lion would have help to balance the image out better. You could crop some bottom out here and extend canvas at top to accomplish this but to try to get it in the field. Not always easy to finesse an image this way when action is involved though.

I think you did a great job here creating a strong image. Thanks for posting.

very powerful Lorant! love that eye...maybe just crop a bit from the bottom, about half of the giraffe that's below the thigh-line?

Thank you for the comments. I have different pictures from this and I tried different crops as well. Initially I wasn't sure about the eye in the center position, but than I made the decision for this composition and I like it. It is full frame; I had plenty of time composing the image on the field :-). Changing the ratio with a different crop would give indeed other possibilities, however, I still like it as it is. Thanks again guys.

Lovely image. You got the eye right. There is less separation between the lion and the top frame. Less space at the bottom and more at the top would have been good.
