Shot earlier this summer. I remember cloning some twigs and such.
    Big crop.

    Nikon D3s
    1/1600 sec @f/5.6
    ISO 400
    800 mm

Lance, higher ISO, I know. :) This was shot when I first got my lens.

    Comments welcome.

Hi Jay - Higher ISO - Yes but only when you need it ;) - 1/1600th at 800mm is fine for a subject like you have, not a lot of movement. Exposure looks good - Ha is angled towards us a little which is good.
IMHO - I feel like I want to see more of the habitat in this one - so a little tight - a little more space up front as that is the general direction in which he is moving.
Like the BG and the little foreground flowers.
    Keep em coming :)

    Lance,

Thanks.......turns out I have plenty of canvass. I cropped around distractions. Never thought of the "more habitat" in habitat shots. Good advise, l learn something every day.

This is a really lovely image Jay. Super habitat and a great head angle- IMO this is exactly the angle that gives an image interest. I agree with Lance that a looser crop would be good, and as you have a lot more of the image, why not show it off! I would give more space up front and on top.

The second post is awesome, this is so beautiful to see. I wouldn't mind seeing this hanging on the wall. The exposure on the whites is right on.
