Gorgeous capture...I like the droopy antennae. Nice background and also a positive is that the subject is sitting on top of the flowers.

Thanks Allen, as you might imagine I took several shots hoping to isolate the body from the flower head, I was hoping to get the proboscis curled in front of the head but I suppose you can't have it all.:)

This is really nice, Jon! Great colors, great perch, great looking butterfly. The only change I might make would be to take a small slice off the top so the wings are about the same distance from the edge as they are on the right side.

This looks a lot like our Azure Butterflies so I'm betting this is a Celastrina sp.

Hi Jonathon, Wonderful looking BF and perch, the top of the wings look a little OOF not enough to be detrimental to the image but just enough that i notice it.

    Hey Jonathan,
Very good perch and BG.......don't mind the position at all and it all works for me. Perhaps a bit more DOF or selective sharpening but as Don mentioned......not a deal breaker at all and just something you may want to tweak. Nicely done!

The butterfly looks lovely with the magenta and green setting it off.
