Default Roseate Spoonbill preening (new crop posted)

I flubbed the ISO on this, but still like the image. I never lowered the ISO when the light got better. I could have shot at 200 or even 100 to reduce noise. It happens. :)

David, I hardly ever shoot under a 400 ISO any more. I have the same camera. I'm not seeing a ton of noise but you can always run some NR on the BG if you do. I like the pose and sharp details. Do you have any more room on the left-maybe just a tiny bit more so it doesn't look so narrow.

Nice colors -- the red eye really grabs my attention

Great capture. I love the pink and (dark) sky blue color combination. They are almost opposite each other on the RGB color wheel and provide beautiful color contrast.

I agree with Denise that the crop is big tight. Use 16x20 would probably be more balance.
Love spoonbills, one of my favs.

What do you think of this 1:1 crop?

Somewhere in between for me. While I like the added space, I might not leave that one feather hanging on the edge because to me it implies that it is clipped on the backside. I would try to make it look more cropped than clipped by cropping in a little more so there are no edges on the edge. Hope that makes sense. And that is just my opinion.:) It's a wonderful image!

Denise, you lost me just a bit here. :) Which feather and frame edge are you specifically citing? Thanks again!

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be confusing. I was talking about the side you added the canvas back to -the left side. Sorry.:)
