As the only images I had of flamingo's were older ones, I was happy to capture some a few weekends ago. This is a new birding spot for me, in one of the suburbs of Johannesberg. The colours in the top of the image are reflected reeds on the water.

Wonderful BG colors Stuart. Nice details and pose. I like the way you framed this.

Beautiful background colors, and great walking pose. Only issue for me is that the colors are so strong, especially near the top of the frame, that they almost detract from the bird; but I couldn't come up with a crop that would remedy this, other than going square.

I like the chosen comp Stuart. Good striding pose from the flamingo. Desaturating the reflections at top is an option to deflect attention away from those. Odd how the ripples end perfectly along the front leg.

Thanks Dan. I hadnt noticed the ripples ending by the legs. Just had a look at the RAW file, and as I havent touched the water, they are as shot. Well spotted.
Thanks to Denise and Bill too.
