Adoreable capture Jim, and nice clean reflection too. I'm wondering if a bit more DOF would have helped with the rear chick.

Jim nice family image here. Great reflection and I love the first chicks open bill. I can't wait for next year to try photographing these families again.

Ha ha, too cute! Harsh light is dealt with best you could, but I'm sure some fill flash would have helped tame the shadows a bit (and given you a catchlight on the calmer chick). At this particular location the light is golden S-W-E-E-T at sunrise (hope they build a nest at the very same spot next year exactly for that), worth staking it out early...

Thanks Dave...my spot metering was on the head of the adult I guess the little guy didn't get as sharp, Thanks Stephen, probably the best reflection shot of these guys. Thanks Dan (where have you been?) They were out too far for my flash to do anything...hope for better next year

Thanks Dan (where have you been?)
I was thinking the same thing about you! Busy summer, but I've been around a bit locally...I guess we just haven't bumped into each other as often. We should plan an outing soon....

P.S. Awesome to see you posting here...

Dan...good place to learn rather than everyone ooh and aaw at a blurry pic (not that there's anything wrong with that) .I'm busy next few weeks but I'll PM you in a couple
    Have a great looooong weekend
    Jim
