this is a lorakeet that i captured today at butterfly world. (captive) i love these birds and the inside of the lorakeet exhibit is not very condusive to photography, (no BG's) so i created my own. the bg is a kid's shirt. i saw the blue and thought it would be perfect so i lined myself up with him and was able to get two shots.

nikon D300, sigma 50-500 at 370mm, f/6.3, 1/50s, 0 EV, ISO 1250. they dont allow tripods and my flash was not working so i upped the ISO. tough shooting but i think it works.

i havent touched the colors in processing. only light, gaussian blur bg and sharpened bird.

hope you like and thanks for looking. comments and critiques are appreciated.

    Default Little Red

    Hey Harold,
Love this little guy, also love what you did with the background. Like Al said the reds and the yellow are a wee bit warm; but hey I like it. We have to hook up to go there; I was at Butterfly World about six months ago very nice place. The next time I go I'll take my tripod and flash with me.

    Once Again...Congrats,

    Gus Cobos:D

Very sharp and focused, love the way he's looking straight at you.
