    Default Early morning Pelican

Pelican, Early Morning Light, Ft DeSoto Florida

I made this image on one of the 2 days at Ft DeSoto in Florida. I have to say, so far I think Ft DeSoto may be one of my favorite spots in Florida, then again I have not been to them all.....yet! ;)

This was made at a nice low angle using my tripod, I normally use a ground pod for shots like this at Jamaica Bay (here on Long Island) but did not have it with me this day.

    Nikon D3, 600VR, x1.4, ISO 400, f8. 1/500, Gitzo 3530 LSV, Wimberley Head II

The brown tones and golden light throughout the image make this one really stand out. I honestly wouldn't change a thing.

Awesome image George. The lighting is gorgeous and of course the low angle really makes this a winner. !! The open beak is a lovely bonus too. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful study of brown and yellow tones George. The splash of blue in the water compliments these tones nicely offering a pleasent relief. The open bill of the pelican was a real bonus. Good one!!

The golden light here is gorgeous, setting off the feathers of the bird very well.

The open beak makes this one for me. Great light and low eye level image. Fort DeSoto is the best. Aside from Anhinga.
