    Yosemite National Park, California
    Taken last winter just before I left I was treated to some snowfall. The backdrop is
    " Half Dome"
    Nikon D200 Tokina 12-24 DX

    You actually have two subjects here, the mule deer, and Half Dome (which, BTW, is beautifully framed by the overhanging tree branches). The image has a painterly quality to it that I like very much. Beautiful job!

    I like this image. Nice blue sky. I like the way the tree in the laft frame the peak and the deer. I find the darkness of the branch in the FG a little distracting.

    Can't imagine a better setting for the deer !!!! Excellent composition and what colors !!!! Big Congrats !!!

    A truly beautiful composition...all the elements in the scene work ....my only very small nit is to rotate the image counter clockwise a tad..

    Love the image but especially the tree branch framing Half Dome. Must look great on the wall.

    I like this image but have a suggestion. I would have gone just a bit lower to frame half-dome w/o the branches touching it. I would also crop off the right side up to where the tree's long branch approaches the right edge. To me the right side is unbalancing the rest of the image. The crop shown helps to balance it better by utilizing the tree limb on the ground in the lower right to better affect IMO.

    Nice animalscape here James.. Love how the tree mimics the shape of half done.. Roberts crop suggestion works very well....
