I created this one from a 1/15 sec. original blur using Fractalious Sketch B W O1 with a few tweaks.

You can see the original and learn how being ready enabled me to make the original capture by checking out BAA Bulletin #336 here: http://www.birdsasart.com/2010/08/30...-bulletin-336/ and scrolling down.

Don't be shy; all comments welcome. (Or as my Dutch friend Peter Kes would say so delightfully, " All cah-MENTS welcome."

You had good patterns with the Skimmer flock to begin with so the Fractalious treatment you chose really works well.

I like the fract effect and the white BG. If it were mine I might clean up the bird (LLC) that merges with the water as it draws my eye. Nicely done:)

If I had seen this photo out of context I would not know what I was looking at. But, knowing that these are birds, the photo becomes more interesting to me. I think it could be more dramatic if the flock was angled or appearing to be coming closer.

Very interesting end product, looks like threads at my first glance. I like the comp, and the amount of negative space looks good.

Hey Peter, I hear you though I gotta admit I really like the one here, maybe better than the ORIG :) But thanks for sharing your thoughts however we pronounce "comments."

I like the white background and the idea of blurred birds, but I'm still not much of a Frac fan. I'm getting warmer, but not there yet. I think I would prefer to see the actual blurred birds and not the splintered version of the frac filter.

Peter, Peter, I try to stay away from the philosophical and analytical stuff; I just look at an image and like it or not :) I am, however, fine with folks sharing their honest opinions. Always.
