    Hi Michael!

A very pretty image and a nice composition as well!

    Couple things to note here.

    1. If you can and I know it is sometimes a tall order, get lower!
    2. You have some hot whites on the front of the bird, maybe use some Exposure comp next time, (-0.5 to -1) for the whites.

The side light was not the best for you but you did pretty well. Better to have the light coming over your shoulder if you can. I also like the nice blue water you have here. Good job and keep them coming!

Hi Michael Good suggestions from George Here are a couple of more

Got the image color balanced There was a pronounced cast You can use the blacks as reference Take all tints till they are pure black Got rid of the cast from the bill On this image lining up the sun angle would have been great You would not have had the shadow on the back of the birds head btw also added canvas to move the bird from the middle of frame and give him some space up front

Also check the histogram Once you get one perfect is the light and bg does not change you can fire away in confidence !!!!
