I know I've posted a few shots of this bird already. This is the first time I was able to get a clear shot down low. The water background is the inner bay here at the wetlands. I think the colors from the water really compliment this beautiful bird.

Water? I thought that was the sky :-) Great colors on this guy and you caught him in some nice light (albeit a little sidelit). You could try cleaning up the OOF stuff below the bird.

Given this is one of my nemesis birds......I appreciate this one more. Gorgeous colors. This one is so nice that I'd probably clone out the OOF branches in the BG.

I agree about the cloning of the branches but this is a wonderful image. I really like the lighting and think it adds depth to the image.

Beautifully captured in gotgeous lighting. I too agree about cloning out the OOF branches as this is such a stunning image. Thanks for sharing.

A lovely portrayal of this American Kestrel James. Beautiful light on front of bird and as you say the tone of the blue water makes a wonderful back drop. Well done!!

My only Kestrels images are of captive subjects. I would love to get an opportunity to see and image one in the wild. A little more dof would be nice along with some light on the tail. But nice as is.
