    Default Green Heron Juvenile

    D3 200f/2 + TC17EII (340 mm) 1/640@f/6.3 ISO1600 +.67EV (went back to spot metering for a while) HH heavy crop (only a little over a mp left :( ) morning overcast

    pp: color, detail, nr, sharpening

Getting glimpses of an adult and a couple of juveniles for a couple of weeks... but finally got reasonably close (still a bit of a ways off). My first ever green heron shots and the first ones I've seen around here.

    Thanks for looking...

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

The large crop hurts the quality here, however I can still see the feather details and noise look to be under control. Good job on getting the focus on the bird even though it was small in the frame. Love the landing pose and the environmental rock for landing, the green spot amongst the light brown background behind the bird is a bit distracting to me. Congratulation on your first green heron too :D

Hi Michael - like the landing pose - but the crop really has hurt the IQ - Not much else you could do unless you could get closer.
    Keep em coming :)

    Thanaboon, Lance,
