    A Short-billed Dowitcher coming in for a muddy landing, Wolfville, Nova Scotia yesterday.

    D300, 300 f/4 AF-S +1.4 TC, hand-held. 1/2000, f/8.0, ISO 1000, matrix metering.

    In general I do not like the pancake view of a bird's wings but I do like this one because of the SH, and the great view of the spread tail. And we can even see some of the dorsal surface of the far wing. EXP is right on and the BKGR is sweet.

    Any clue as to the two catchlights?

    Hi,

    The light was from behind me and somewhat to the left, and I didn't change anything re: eye or catchlights. So I'm not sure on that one. BTW, what's SH?
