Sharp, beautiful water colors, nice pose, subtle side light. I would tone down the brightest diagonal reed on the left.

To add to Artie's comments, I find the OOF reeds distracting. Perhaps a bit of blur would put this image over the top.

The repost is an improvement of an image that I like. The mood of the scene is quite pleasant and sharpness, light and saturation very good.

Michael, good low perspective, and the angle and pose really makes this work. I do like the light and overall colours too.

Lovely for all the reason stated above. I also like the repost. I would like to add one observation. To my eye the image appears to need a little clockwise rotation. If I use the ruler tool in photoshop and draw a line from the tip of the bill to the same spot on the reflection and go to image/image rotation/arbitrary the result is a 3.27 degree clockwise rotation.

Michael, Good job on the light reeds. Phil, while that technique works well at times, there are times when the reflection is distorted by ripples or wave-lets and I believe that that is what happened here. If this were rotated 3+ degrees CW the bird would be swimming uphill. BTW, 3.27 degrees is a big rotation.

Michael, Lovely colors . I like how the pose shows off the back feathers. Nicely done on the repost.

    Hi Artie,

Your point is well taken and I stand corrected:o. I kept titling my head when viewing the image and convinced myself that some rotation was is order:confused:. My wife often tells me I have a skewed view of things:). This must be the case here. Thanks for correcting me and I hope I haven't confused anyone.
