Gorgeous pose, Katie. Flower and BG look a little bright. Tried a version desaturation reds a couple of points and darkening the whole image apart from the bird and a sliver off the top as an option.

Lovely bird Katie. I agree that reducing exposure improves the image. There are a number of minor imperfections in the flower that could be easily removed, if this is consistent with your ethics. How did rate a Passion Flower?

Wow Katie!! Awesome image. You did a great job capturing the pose and sharp details. The flower adds a lot. I like Tony's crop and think that I would clean up the flower since this is so fantastic! Congrats!!:)

    Thank you all!

Tony, it's ironic that I thought my first conversion was too saturated so took it back a few notches...guess I'll rethink that and I agree with your crop suggestion.

Peter, I'll see if I can bring out a bit more detail in the tail.

Bill and Denise, I was dismayed with the flower's imperfections but decided to leave as is...again, maybe I'll rethink that decision.

    Thank you for your comments.

Hi, Katie. Great to see this one. That was a tough flower, but I know you liked it so I'm really glad to see the final result here. I think Tony's repost does improve this nice image; definitely worth tweaking as I think would make a nice print.

    All the best,
    Greg Basco

The flash work is very good as is Tony's repost. I love the wing position.

Tony´s repost summarizes my thoughts about this one quite good. Impressive image and nice use of the flash set-up.

Lovely irirdescence capture Katie, and I like the flying approach. Lovely setting all round, and Tony's post works well.

I just love the Crowned Woodnymph! Tony's repost is a nice improvement, and I like the idea of a small crop off the top and bottom.

Katie, FYI, this is the scarlet passionflower, Passiflora coccinea.

Beautiful photo and bird. Great sharpness, exposure and colours against a killer bg. Wish it was mine. Well done on a great shot !!

Wow! Beautiful. The repost of the flower was nice, but you sure nailed that little hummer! :)
