    Default Photoshop/quick mask help needed

Some time ago, I learned the quick mask technique from the APTATS cd.

Something happened in my cs4 and when I enter quick mask mode (Q) and then hit (B) for brush, to select my area, nothing is getting selected (Nothing turns red). I checked my keyboard shortcuts, and B still stands for brush. Tried the old trick of shutting down hoping things would revert, nothing.

    I am stumped...help?

    Tia,

    Grace

Grace- A friend of mine had this same problem. I'm not sure this is the solution but check that your brush opacity and flow are both at 100%.

Check your foreground/background box colors. Be sure one is black and one white. Toggle back and forth and see if that helps.

John and Nancy, Thanks for the replies. You hit the nail on the head, Nancy! Appreciate you both helping, I'm not the best with Photoshop!!

This has happened to me and usually hitting the D for default before making your selection does the trick.

The above work most of the time. Once it did not for me - then I had to trash my PS preferences and it worked again.
