    Default Incoming Common Tern.

A thin veil of clouds with the sun trying to peek through created an interesting light/BG combo. These guys are fun to photograph, and I was especially happy with this incoming pose.

Canon 40D + 100-400L @400mm, manual exposure (+2 stops, metered off sky and histogram checked), evaluative metering, 1/800s., f/6.3, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, ~70% FF.

Looks a bit pale here on the screen..and some OOF clouds would bring more depht in the image

for me there's a the subject, the background, and a forground what make a picture complete, and now, 2 outher 3 are missing..grtz!

Hi Daniel, great exposure, lighting, and flight freeze. For me, the pale blue sky accents the Tern well.

Nice shot. This type of tern is so hard to get. :)

Daniel, loved the high treatment and the placement of the tern in the frame. Perfect wing position for this bird angle.

    Hi Daniel,

I personally like the light blue sky as I agree with Dave that it displays the bird nicely. The flight pose is also appealing. I might take a little off the top so that the right wing point directly into the upper corner. This would also provide more space at the bottom for the bird to fly into. Just my personal preference on the crop as I do think your presentation works as well. Thanks for sharing.

Nice incoming pose and exposure. The subject, foreground, background thing doesn't really apply to BIF. Nice and sharp.

    Well done Daniel!

Good eye contact from both eyes. I'd like a bit more image contrast.

It works for me very well but I agree with Doug about an additional bit of aditional contrast. I would like to point out that you did a very good job getting this pale bird against a pale BG. Well done and thanks a lot for your gentle words about me Daniel :)
