    Canon 7D Canon canon 500mm f4 tripod & Mongoose ISO 1000 1/640 sec f8

    Another shot from the workshop (captive bird). The right side of the bird was in more shade than the left so I used curves to bring it up a little, then I followed with selective Colour. I removed a twig and a couple of bumps from the perch. Topaz lightest Raw to the Background Copy and Photoshop Filter >Reduce Noise (twice) to the background.

    A nice alert pose and the processing on this one is spot on. Superb. Next time you visit find and bring a few killer perches and donate them :)

    Great stuff Jon,

    I like the contrasting light between the subject and BKGR. It really lifts the bird away from the BKGR and therefore gives a lot of depth to the image.
