    Default Big Bear

Taken at Brooks Falls in Katmai National Park, Alaska. This bear broke its jaw in a fight a few years ago. He still fishes on occasion but mostly steals fish caught by other bears. As soon as he arrived at the falls, all the other bears ran away.

I am sure everyone is glad to see him show up. Looks like he is sticking his tongue out at the photographers.

Good composition. I would try some selective sharpening on the face to make that stand out more.

Rachel despite his broken jaw and large scars on his left front leg he seem in relatively good shape. I like the eye contact and the habitat aspect of this image.

Great photo. Like the sense of water movement. Subject is well exposed with good colours. Well done getting it this sharp at 1/125

Hi Rachel, good to see him looking healthy, despite a broken jaw. I like the eye contact, and that he is about to go into the water. Maybe a little tight on the right.

Thanks Nico and Stuart. Btw Nico, it was from a tripod.
