This was taken last month in my backyard. It is a set-up perch near the feeder. All C&Cs are appreciated.

While I am not a big fan of side light I am OK with it here. The BKGR certainly is a smooth one; is it natural? With the bird angled towards you the head needs to be angled towards you to the same degree. Could use a crop from the bottom; in general you want about twice as much room above the bird as below. SH is good as is the EXP.

Nice sharp details and incredibly smooth BG. I'll echo Artie's comments on the cropping and head angle.

Love it. Really pops against that background. I like the texture in the feathers brought out by the sidelighting. Also like that the perch is slightly diagonal and not horizontal.

Awesome perch...great job in selecting it for your setup! Nice clean BG too. Techs look great. Nobody would notice a lack of shadow if you eliminated the dark thick one on the far wing. What caused the shadow on the neck and belly to be red?

Thanks for the comments. The BG is the back of a lawn chair. I never noticed the red on the belly and neck. It is probably a reflection of the feeder which is to the left of the hummingbird.

    That would make sense...

P.S. Good use of the lawn chair, well thought out!
