We call these guys Darter's in South Africa. They swim along the surface, and suddenly dissapear below the water to look for their meals. This guy was quite close when he surfaced with breakfast. Believe or not, it went straight down the hatch.

Sharp and good detail. Good comp and colours. Amazing, the size they can swallow. Well done Stu

I like the timing and action but am not so sure about the crop since the lower neck is clipped. It might also work as a vertical crop.

Love the image and action but does scream vertical I'm with Axel on this one !!!!! Amazing the size of fish they can swallow .... but that bird does have a look of concern !!!!!

Another vote for vertical and more room at the bottom. Very similar to our Anhinga, but not sure they are the same species?

Thanks for the suggestion of a vertical crop. Here is my new version.

Definitely improved! I might crop even more off the left.
