    Default Butterfly with Edge-Glow

    Attached Images Attached Images

Canon 7D, 400 DO with tubes, f6.3, 1/1000, ISO 1600, monopod, cropped from horizontal. Reduced noise and blurred background, sharpened butterfly, and tilted a little.

Then, applied Edge Glow filter and tinkered with the adjustments, plus output sharpened.

    Same image unmolested in Flora.

Hi Doug, thanks for transporting me back to my dorm room in 1968! Like this a lot. The neon/black light look is perfect, like a psychedelic scratching. It looks like a delicate glass sculpture lit from the inside. Very nice!

Was that before or after your night out, in downtown Berkley, Kerry!!! ;) :D

    Nice image and application, Doug.

I like the bright colors and the pattern outline.

Thanks, all. I think I like the filtered version better than the "unmolested" version. Lots of butterfly on a flower pics around. I wanted to make a print to take to the local camera club meeting tonight and discovered that I didn't save a PSD version before I reduced the filesize. I was expecting to have lots of trouble reproducing the look, but not so. Just moved the three Diffuse Glow sliders a bit and it came out very similar to the version above. One thing I'll have to remember is to save a PSD when satisfied with the look, especially those with numerous filters applied as smart objects.

Mixed report on the filtered image from the camera club. Some loved it and others called it a trick photo.
