    Default Forster's Tern

At the urging of Denise Ippolito I'm posting for the first time in2 years. Since all the posts coming from Jamaica bay have been shorebirds, I thought I'd change it up a bit. This was taken at "The Raunt". Canon Mark IV, 500'f4, 1.4X TC, 1/1000s, f/14, ISO 800.

Welcome back Lloyd! Terrific moment you've captured here. The begging juvenile is perfectly positioned relative to the adult. You've got good detail in both the blacks and whites. Like the low angle. Perhaps slightly oversharpened. Only wish that the shadow of the adult's bill wasn't cast across the juvi's eyes. Overall a very nice image!

Lloyd, I'm so glad you decided to join in on the fun!! I love the story this one tells. Beautiful details and the open mouth of the juvi really makes this one special. Looking forward to more from "The Raunt". I was there today and there wasn't too much going on. I did go the other day and had some great luck. :)

Agree with Doug, nice moment and I agree about the shadow.

I only wish the light was a little less contrasty, good work handling it here. Also I wish the tide was a few inches higher to give you more water in the foreground.

    Lloyd,
Loving the inter-action captured and the very fine detail as well. Tough light handled very well.

    Hi,
It's in NYC very close to Kennedy Airport. One of the truly great places to photograph shorebirds up close and of course Forster's Tern.

Great low angle and sharpness. Like the momet captured and DOF. Exposure is spot on. Well done :)
