It seems in Barrow,Ak I was always looking at the backside of action, but hey that was fine.
This Steller's Eider had finished preening and moving away when he flapped his wings.
I loved the symmetry of the feathers on each side and the beautiful feather pattern on the back of his head that only can be appreciated on this view. reminded me of "pseudo " eyes in many species of animals.

Hi Charles, definitely some plumage tricks on this duck's head. Does look like eyes and a beak! I like the wing pattern and the splashes of water. I think there is slight cyan cast to the image. Adding a bit of red should fix that. Feels like it needs just a bit of CCW rotation.

Charles, The wings seem to be balanced to me so I'm not sure about the rotation-but I am always wrong with these:confused: I might tone down a few of the bright spots on the wings - Very nice feather display.

Charles, yes the symmetry is awesome. I liked the Bg a lot too. If mine, I'd crop some from below. TFS.

Hi Charles, Great pose. Love the pseudo face! It looks straight to me. Agree with Denise on toning down some of the bright spots.
