Willem, Good image showing this interaction. You could have good vertical on this image as well. Great light on the animals which unfortunately lite up the branches in the background a lot. That is why I am recommending the vertical crop to eliminate much of the background.
Please do not let the following comment through you. It is meant to advise on how an image like this can be better. I understand well that capturing the ideal is not easy and besides good strategy in the field, luck plays an important factor.
In general, for this type of image to move into the "over the top" category, seeing both the animals eyes and having both more parallel to you would be preferred.
Great advise by Robert, Willem. You caught a good amount of action but if you had been able to move to the left some you would have possibly managed to photograph both faces and that would have been even better! I know how hard it is in the field to capture this kind of thing; I think you did well to get this image. I'd also go vertical to cut out some of the background distractions, PLUS I think with the height of the two animals a vertical crop would look more "natural."
I don't take any advince for the comments I just want that kind of comments. I de people only say " nice, good color and composition'' is that nice too read bur not for learning so Thanks for the above comments so I can grow feather.
Thanks fot the comments again people. About the suggestion for the crop......I don;t do this because I think that when I use a vertical crop the subject is too close near the edge.
